Raise your glass and say it with me. “My friends are the best friends, loyal willing and able. Now let’s get to drinking! All glasses off the table!” What’s St. Patrick’s Day without a classic Irish toast before swigging an ice-cold brew with your best buds? Here are our most festive suggestions for celebrating the holiday in Central Florida.

            Crooked Can Celtic Festival

Winter Garden’s Crooked Can Brewing Company is ideal for meeting new people friends and puppy friends year-round. But when drinking holidays come around, like St. Patrick’s Day and Oktoberfest, the opportunity to revel in good company and even better beer kicks into high gear.

This year, the 7th Annual Crooked Can Celtic Festival kicks off on March 17 and runs through March 19. Featuring Celtic music, Irish dancers, authentic eats and local craft brews, this special celebration is a Plant Street Market tradition. Here, Crooked Can classics like Cloud Chaser and McStagger are always on tap, and the Barrel Room holds seasonal selections. So gather your crew, grab a pint and celebrate the luck of the Irish with your neighbors and friends.

            Disney Springs Crawl

There is no shortage of festive fun at Disney Springs – it all depends on how you prefer to celebrate. A bar crawl through the entertainment complex is one way to spread the “cheers.”

Every year, Raglan Road hosts the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival for a full week. This event features live entertainment as well as a menu of modern Irish dishes and brews. Speaking from experience, the Fish & Chips offer a solid base for what is sure to be a rollicking good time. This year’s festival runs from March 11 to March 17.

At Polite Pig, local restaurateurs, James and Julie Petrakis, created a casual gathering place for all tastes. Sip on a whiskey flight while snacking on some savory southern barbecue. Or try the beer flight with small-batch craft beers like Lone Palm Golden Ale and Working Man Porter. (Those of you in Winter Park will find the same beer selections and more in the Ravenous Pig Beer Garden.)

Outdoor bars at Jock Lindsay’s Hangar Bar, The Boathouse or Paddlefish are perfect for winding down. Revisit your St. Patrick’s Day adventures with your celebration buddies over one last round and pretty views.

St. Patrick’s Day Party at Boxi Park

Lake Nona’s Boxi Park is a lively venue every Thursday through Saturday. You will typically find families, friends, couples, and kids, hanging out in the park’s expansive open space, surrounded by a selection of food and beverage vendors. Claw and Order is a crowd favorite, due mostly to the indulgent Lobster Fries.

On March 17, Boxi Park is hosting a 21-and-up St. Patrick’s Day Party, where the counter-service bars – Hops and Vine, La Cajita and Bar Nona – will take center stage. And on the main stage, Def Leprechaun by Switch will keep the party going from 6-11 p.m. so you can dance and drink the night away.

            Sláinte!

No matter where you plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, or who you plan to celebrate with, remember this Irish saying.

There are good ships and there are wood ships, the ships that sail the sea. But the best ships are friendships, and may they always be.
