Orlando resident and aspiring entrepreneur, Danny Tapia, and his team are building out an XR extension of the Arthur App, Orlando Health’s application that allows non-verbal patients to communicate using innovative technology.
Danny learned about the Arthur App at MetaCenter Global Week where he quickly realized they were the only showcase at the conference that wasn’t using XR to execute their solution. After inquiring about their plans to do so, he was told the idea was interesting but they were unsure who would build it.
As an aspiring immersive tech entrepreneur who’s been practicing development, Danny saw an opportunity to test out his skills and offered to put together a demo. Orlando Health accepted.
After taking that action and getting a YES, Danny began to put together a team of skilled developers to build out the technology. Shortly after, he decided to include a showcase event where people in the MedTech community, as well as the public, could come out and experience what they’ve built.
“We built a team that we have here today of developers and 3D artists. We have really cool advisors where we're all interested in advancing the future of immersive technology right here in Orlando. You know, Silicon Valley is thousands of miles away, but we're here in Orlando. We want to show that we can build something awesome too.”
The Arthur in XR Concept Showcase event is taking place July 25th from 4-8pm at the UCF Executive Development Center located at 36 West Pine Street Orlando, FL 32801. You can RSVP here
