As an aspiring entrepreneur, the journey of starting and growing a business can be filled with challenges and uncertainties. That's why finding a supportive and inclusive community, like 1 Million Cups Orlando, becomes invaluable.
1 Million Cups Orlando is a weekly event that provides a nurturing space for entrepreneurs and their communities to gather, connect, and share their experiences. The group meets every Wednesday in the SunTrust Auditorium of the Crummer Business Building at Rollins College in Winter Park. Attendees who park inside the Truist Garage are provided with a free parking voucher upon entry of the event. The parking garage is located across the street from the Crummer Business Building
Participants are encouraged to sign up to give presentations on their business or their ideas, even if they’re uncomfortable doing so. The community who welcomes all, are more interested in seeing people step out of their comfort zone and step into a successful entrepreneurial story.
One of the standout features of 1 Million Cups Orlando is the sense of community that permeates every gathering. According to Stoic Dan, a business ethics instructor for local startups and entrepreneurs, this chapter of 1 Million Cups is more than just a lead generating group; it is a place where you can find genuine mentorship from people who deeply care about each other's ventures. Here, you will be embraced by a supportive network that understands the challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurship.
In our visit to 1 Million Cups Orlando, Erik Deckers, a local content marketer and author, gave a presentation on Best Content Marketing Practices. Erik's session was not only informative but also inspiring, providing attendees with actionable strategies to enhance their marketing efforts.
Following the presentation, an open room discussion, led by Rupert Meghnot, offered entrepreneurs the opportunity to ask questions about the challenges that keep them up at night. Three people out of the audience stood up (including yours truly) to gain from collective wisdom and experiences of fellow entrepreneurs in the room.
I've been a co-organizer for 1 Million Cups Orlando for nearly 7 years and in that time, I've found my tribe. It's been fulfilling, as its provided me a steady stream of clients who need my assistance in getting their companies off the ground. - Rupert Meghnot
